Enhancing Orange's Public Libraries With Named Gift Opportunities Orange's public libraries welcome everyone in Orange to study, enjoy programs, and pursue opportunities for education, employment, and enrichment. To make those wonderful libraries even better, donations are welcomed - to buy books and music for free checkout; to underwrite special programs for all ages; to support computers and databases for public use; and to preserve and share Orange's unique local history. All contributions are tax-deductible. Here are some of the opportunities for support: Pooled Endowment Funds generate interest which is utilized to support key Orange Public Library initiatives for purchase and preservation of books and materials, children's programming, and technology. A donation of $5,000 or more sets up an individually named account that is collectively invested in perpetuity. Two such accounts already exist: One for local history, and the other for new library books and other materials. Annual Program Support provides underwriting for the libraries' Summer Reading Program for children and for teens; Library Card Registration Month each September; an annual Anime [Japanese animation] Film Festival; an Author Series; and more. A one-time contribution of $5,000 will provide support and naming rights for a library program for one year. Public-Use Computers may be named for $2,500 apiece, with the donor recognized by name on a special wall plaque. Furniture - tables and chairs throughout the libraries - may be named for $750 to $5,000 apiece, depending on the item. The donor will be recognized by name on a special wall plaque. Local History Display Cases (4) in the Lobby of the new Orange Public Library & History Center are available for permanent naming recognition at $20,000 apiece. These walnut display cases contain rotating exhibits about Orange's unique and fascinating history. Adopt-A-Stack Endowments provide more books, music, and/or DVDs in the subject area of the donor's greatest interest. A $25,000 contribution (payable over several years if desired) is recognized with the donor's name on a plaque on a library bookcase. Some naming opportunities are still available at the Orange Public Library & History Center (Main Library) for major areas within that building. For more information about library support opportunities, please contact the Orange Public Library Foundation at (714) 288-2470. Create a permanent legacy of support for generations to come! |
